Olive
Fell: For Love of Wyoming
(1896
- 1980)
Special
Online Show
Shaped
by her environs and her love of nature, Olive Fell's work presents
a reflection of the beauty in stillness, the peaceful wonder,
and the fun and humor that still compose the American West. The
Four Bear Ranch, 25 miles west of Cody, was close to both Yellowstone
and the protected game refuge of the Absaroka Range; thus allowing
her to track and observe animals. Her works hung in the Buffalo
Bill Historical center's museum for years and they, along with
the Montana Historical Society, still have the largest collections;
Jackson Hole's National Museum of Wildlife Art also holds her
work. See more of the show
online.
"Sego
Lillies in the Mountains", Serigraph, by Olive Fell.
Gold
and jeweled masterpieces by Susan Adams and Clint Orms. The jeweled
buckle was favored in the 1930's by cowboys and cowgirls alike.
Most common was the ruby set in gold, on a sterling base. Clint
and Susan take this tradition to new levels with 18K gold, rubies,
sapphires and a whole lot of diamonds! Custom designs are encouraged
- bring your ideas to Cayuse and we'll help design your family's
heirlooms.

Fall Arts Festival Opening Events:
Capturing the Essence - Regional
Photographs 1850 -1940
There's
no question that the advent of the photograph and the westward
expansion of our country were one of the most beneficial coincidences
in history. If it were not for the photographers of the west,
many stories of wonder would have been dismissed as exaggeration
or fantasy, including the geysers of Yellowstone, the many diverse
Native American groups, and the lifestyle of cowboys. Cayuse has
gathered together photographs ranging from the mid-1800's to the
1940's depicting the beautiful and sometimes harsh land, and the
lives it supported in the Northern Rocky Mountain region.
