Location: Visalia CA., Fresno CA. Visalia Stock Saddle Co. had its beginning with David E. Walker and Henry G. Shuham in Visalia CA. in 1870. The business jumps owners from 1877 to 1899 when Edmond Weeks inherits half the business from his uncle Walker, and buys Henry Wegners widows half, and becomes sole owner turning the business back into Visalia Stock Saddle Co. Weeks dies in the early 1930’s and his stepson runs the business until 1945. The business eventually falls to Sheldon Potter in 1945 and he moves it to Sacramento in the early 50’s. The business was then sold to William Majors, a key employee from 1935-40, in 1964. Majors also owned Diablo Silver Co. in Grass Valley, and Castro Valley in CA. He sold Visalia to Davis Stidolph in 1977 who sold it to William “Bill” Cutting in 1982. Visalia Stock Saddle Co. is in Fresno CA. today. |
