Forty Years on the Frontier
This is an important two volume, first edition set, written by Granville Stuart. Stuart was a gold miner, trader, merchant, rancher and politician. He was one of the first to raise cattle in Montana and was the state's first Stock Grower's Association president and was president of the Board of Stock. In the lexicon of the west, he was in the top tier. Teddy Blue Abbott, legendary cowboy, married one of Stuart's daughters. Many sketches by the author are throughout each volume. Vol I frontispiece has photo of Stuart; Vol. II frontispiece includes an F.J. Haynes photo. Original blue cloth covers, offset to endpapers. In very good condition. This is a must for anyone putting together a serious Western Americana library.
