Circa 1930

Unused, as new, Yellowstone Photo Album. This has a leather cover with a hand painted cowboy on a bucking horse on the cover, and the word "photographs", also painted. The Yellowstone designation and the border are burned in. The initial pages are titled "memory leaves" for noting friends met along the way - the graphics are very Art Nouveau. The balance of the book contains thick unused black craft paper for photographs. In near-perfect condition, with the corners bumped just a little. 11.25" x 8.5".

Yellowstone National Park Buffalo Spoon

Circa 1940
Highly engraved sterling teaspoon from Yellowstone. The dip holds the engraving of the buffalo, the stem reads "Yellowstone Nat Park", followed by engravings of Giant Geyser, Golden Gate and Great Falls, on the upside. Turn it over and you'll discover more engravings of Rapids, Fish Pot and Petrified Trees. Amazing detail and quite collectible.

Circa 1940

Decidedly sweet sterling teaspoon from Glacier National Park. Wonderful cut-out work of a MountainGoat on the upper grip. Name of the Park runs down the stem. A real collector's piece.

Yellowstone National Park Holster

Very unusual Yellowstone Park souvenir Holster. We've been finding park items for a long timeand have never seen one of these. Made from 3 different textures of leather, it has the classic Yellowstone Grizzly and "Yellowstone Park" burned into the front. It is fringed all around, and has a snap close much like early "real" holsters of the 1880's. The holster has slits in the back for sliding onto a belt. 12.5" long and 4.5" wide at widest point. Circa: 1920.

Cute leather Knife Sheath for a large pocket knife, or buck knife, complete with embossed bear and the words "Yellowstone Park". Stylized leather fringe runs down the side, and there's a little fabric loop to attach to a belt. 6" x 2 1/4.

Circa 1940

A nice looking pair of chalkware bookends in good condition, considering how easily chalkware can chip. Endearing mother bear and her cub, from Yellowstone Park. These were probably sold in a curios shop at the park. Good weight, with original felt bottoms.

Brochure published by Union Pacific Railroad entitled "Yellowstone aNd Grand Teton National Parks". Has the original blue sticker on the cover "See Yellowstone for Less in 1936". 48 pages long, this brochure is illustrated on every page with a large photograph and a margin drawing. Yellowstone and Teton views are predominant, as well as representations of some of Utah's sights like the Saltair Palace, and the Hermitage Lodge. The center has a large map of the Yellowstone and Teton region.

Yellowstone National Park Vase
Circa 1930

Visitors to Yellowstone were usually enticed to buy souvenirs to remind them of their trip, much like today.
This vase was probably one of the choices visitors had in 1930 when shopping at Sharp's Curio Store in Livingston, Montana. Originally made in Germany, the vase includes applied and hand-painted images of the Lower Falls in Yellowstone. A perfect size to display wildflowers in your windowsill or for the kitchen table.

Rayon Bandana
Circa 1940

Bandannas could be fairly plain or extremely showy as is the case with this one. The center background is a medium green jacquard. Off center, in one corner is a large, cream-colored circle with a cowboy riding a bronc. The circle is actually a rope that spells out "The Roundup" on the top and "Let'er Buck" on the bottom. The corners are pink colored, with cream edges that have a repeat pattern of a cowboy roping a steer. This is a delightful textile, and could be used in a variety of ways. As a neck scarf or perhaps decoration for a small corner table. In excellent condition. Circa 1940.

Mammoth Albumen Haynes Photo
Circa 1890

Mammoth albumen photo on original board, with the studio paper label. This beautiful, classic Haynes image of the Great Falls of Yellowstone is printed in sepia tone. In 1884,
F.J. Haynes purchased a new camera which took dry plate photos on plate glass. The camera weighed 92 1/4 lbs, and during that July the camera was carried down to the bottom of the canyon to photograph the falls. Signed and titled on the negative, framed image is 23" x 31".
