Navajo Diagonal Twill Double Saddle Blanket
This saddle blanket employs the twill weaving technique, which was more complicated, but allowed the blanket to withstand hard use. It has rich soft natural bands, interspersed with red, copper, burgundy and other colors. This is a type of blanket that could have also been doubled as a child's wearing blanket - some experts believe that these weavings had dual purpose. Circa: 1885-1890. Measures 45" x 27"
