Navajo Double Saddle Blanket
Open field double saddle blanket in colors of brown, copper, and black. Window pane design as in Joshua Baer's book "They Saddled Our Horses", on early Navajo saddle blankets. These were most likely made for the early cowboys, who commented that there was nothing that compared to a Navajo saddle blanket for keeping their horses' backs from getting sore. The wonderful brown and cream edge graphic on this one would show around the edge of the saddle. Measures 56 x 36. Circa 1900.
