Navajo Germantown Saddle Blanket
Navajo Germantown "Sunday" Saddleblanket, so named because they would be used for special events. They're identified usually by a row of fringe across the back. This one, being early, has remnants of the fringe, and has an eyedazzler design with interior crosses. From the collection of Don Bennett, late founder of the important Whitehawk Antique Shows in Santa Fe, and renowned collector of American Indian art. In excellent condition. Circa 1890. Measures 29" x 34".
