Shipley Double Mounted Spurs Circa 1930
These are marked Shipley (for Shipley Saddle Co.), however they were made by Crockett, who contracted to make Shipley's spurs. Nice double-mounted pair, with nickle silver etched with leaves and a "coin" of copper on the outside heel band; a long diamond or wedge is similarly engraved on the inside heelband. These belonged to a Texas cowboy named Earl Lusk, whose name is lightly engraved into the nickel. Great Crockett details. Circa 1930. Measure: 1.75" 8pt. rowel, shank is 3.25" long with a chap guard. Heel band is 3.25" across. Broken leather on one of the spurs.
